Jane will always be Auntie Jane to me. She was so much fun, so quick to laugh and to see the amusing side of a situation. And there were so many situations when we were growing up! So many memories. There is one that really stays with me because it speaks to how, when we were six children meeting up for fun and adventure weekends, it always felt like Auntie Jane was on our side really. We kids had hidden the receiver of a baby monitor behind the cistern, and lay in wait in another room for an unsuspecting adult to go inside. Unusual and ghostly noises would then be broadcast from our dark bedroom, scaring the bathroom occupant and causing a mass search for the culprits! I would have been about 10 years old, so 39 years ago, and I can still recall Auntie Jane's reaction - she laughed so hard there were tears rolling down her cheeks. We learned so much from her adventurous spirit, from her embracing of life and everything it had to offer.
